Xiaomi Black Shark Gaming Review:
Xiaomi Black Shark is a Gaming Smartphone. And when it comes to the game, Player Unknown’s Battleground aka PUBG is the most trending and popular game right now along with all time favourite game clash of clans. So we tested PUBG on Mi Black Shark. It was quite a good experience. It really runs faster and smoother in ‘Shark Space’. But one thing for sure, as Player Unknown’s Battleground is a PC game, it’s hard to get the same graphics, thrills, and experience in its mobile version. So you should definitely try and download Pubg on pc someday. It’s quite a bit more than just a game.
Shark Space is a virtual gaming zone in Mi Black Shark. You can enable it by a side-switch. You can add to or remove games from Shark Space. It has too many features that helped a lot, not only while playing PUBG but also other games too. To enable these features, slide down the fingerprint sensor and a customizable menu bar will pop down from above.
We loved the No-inCalls or simply the Do Not Disturb feature the most. It leaves only Data Connection or Wifi, enabled. Whereas, it disables all network services like messages, notifications and most importantly the annoying phone calls along with other functions. This helps a lot for uninterrupted gaming as if you are in the middle of a mission or something. Although, you can still see other features like Gamepad, No keyboard, Night mode and more.
We also tested the portable Bluetooth Joypad also called as a gamepad, which can be snap-attached to the back case. Playing Pubg using a gamepad is a bit comfortable. It has one joystick, for movements and two trigger buttons for aiming and shooting. But we will recommend going with on-screen controls, as the joypad has some drawbacks like it can’t be used for the sprint. It has to do with on-screen controls. And after using Joypad for a while, fingers begin to have a cramp like feelings. And the most important thing is that it has to be charged since it uses Bluetooth to connect with the phone.
As the frame rate, we observed during PUBG is about 45-60 fps, the gameplay is lag free and smooth like butter. We do saw some frame drops while testing PUBG and other games. But it is quite obvious for most of the devices. So it is not an issue. The battery standby for PUBG alone is about continuous 6 hours. It varies with different apps and games. It does get a little warmer after 2 -3 hours but still its fine!
It looks like Xiaomi did every possible thing to make Mi Black Shark an absolute gaming phone. For instance, if we take the shark space (a highly optimized gaming space for better performance gaming) or the attachable Bluetooth Joypad, it is still cheaper than Asus ROG or the Razer Phone. And after testing popular games like PUBG, Fortnite, and others, we didn’t find any flaws in this phone. This phone will be a great debut in Xiaomi’s first ever range of gaming smartphones. It is an affordable gaming device at a price of near about Rs.30k. It is a complete flagship budget gaming smartphone. Probably it is the most considerable gaming device right now.
